Air Marshall Islands is the flag carrier of the Republic of the Marshall Islands. It has been the nation’s flag carrier since its inception in the 1980s.

3. The main hub of Air Marshall Islands is Marshall Islands International Airport

Marshall Islands International Airport, built during the Second World War, serves as the home base for Air Marshall Islands. Located in Mauro, the capital of the Marshall Islands, this airport also accommodates flights from United Airlines (one of the major airlines based in the United States) and Nauru Airlines (the flag carrier of the Republic of Naura).

4. Air Marshall Islands has three aircraft in its fleet

The aircraft Air Marshall Islands operates are the Bombardier Dash 8-100 (1) and Dornier 228-212 (2).

The airline’s previous fleet included the Douglas DC-8, Saab 2000, and BAe 748.

Air Marshall Islands, despite its small fleet, impressively manages to operate a significant number of flights each year. This translates to an average of 13 flights per day – a remarkable achievement for such a small carrier!

8. Air Marshall Islands were forced to suspend flights in 2009

This happened because the airline’s only aircraft at the time, a Bombardier Dash 8, sustained damage to its right wingtip after it collided with an FAA antenna tower during towing. Despite some delays, the plane was eventually repaired, and the carrier was able to resume operations without any further issues.

9. Albon Jelke is the General Manager and CEO of the airline

While various sources state Drauna Waqasokolala is currently leading Air Marshall Islands, the airline’s official website indicates that Albon Jelke is the current General Manager of the airline. This leaves it unclear whether Waqasokolala is still involved with the carrier in an executive capacity. Meanwhile, Logistics Cluster states that Jelke is the current General Manager and CEO.
