Global Airlines Facts
1. Global Airlines’ creation
Global Airlines was founded on July 13, 2021, by travel personality and entrepreneur James Asquith.
Before turning 24, Asquith had already traveled to 196 countries and flown with numerous airlines around the globe. Despite this extensive experience, he often found himself disappointed by the subpar service he encountered on commercial flights.
Motivated by these experiences, Asquith decided to launch his own airline, prioritizing exceptional customer service and aiming to make flying a “magical experience” once more.
2. Who is Global Airlines’ CEO?
James Asquith, the founder, is also the CEO of the airline. He is described on Global Airlines’ official website as a “renowned travel personality and serial entrepreneur.”
In his Instagram bio, Asquith mentions that he holds the Guinness World Record for visiting all 196 countries in the world. As you can probably tell by now, he is extremely passionate about travel. In fact, Asquith also owns another travel company, which is the parent company of Global Airlines.
3. Parent company
The parent company of Global Airlines is Holiday Swap, owned by Asquith. Holiday Swap, which is a holiday exchange booking platform, was launched in 2015.
During an interview with Luxuriate in 2021, Asquith explained the Holiday Swap platform. “It has been designed for travellers to securely swap and host their homes across 185 countries,” Asquith said.
“It’s low cost, it’s essentially a network for like-minded travellers, and people who want to travel. It’s also a sharing economy where people can save money, which is really important right now.”
